Species Description - Differing from no. 4 [Aureolaria grandiflora (Benth.) Pennell] in its much sparser pubescence, entire or merely serrulate bracts, glabrous or subglabrous cal, long, entire cal-lobes considerably exceeding the tube, and slender pedicels commonly 1–2.5 cm at anthesis. Woods; c. Ky. to n. Ga. Aug.–Oct.
