Description
Species Description - Stems 4–8 dm, finely pubescent with minute, somewhat reflexed hairs, or also hirsutulous; lvs minutely hairy on both sides; infl slender, the lateral branches shorter than the internodes; cal at anthesis 5–8 mm; cor 2–2.5 cm, reddish-purple outside, the upper lobes also reddish-purple inside, the lower white inside with purple lines. Sandy soil on the coastal plain (in our area); se. Va. to Fla. and Ala. May, June.
