Spontaneously open follicles ovate to elliptic, outside minutely ashy-crisp-lanuginous, 7-8 × 6-7 mm plus a minute, acute apiculum (0.7-1 mm) long; open and dry endocarp 7-8 × 6-7 mm, turtle-shaped, shortly apiculate at apex, moderately thick and very hard.
