Description
Species Description - Fls 5-merous, 4–5 mm, sessile in small dense clusters; bracts 3–5, closely appressed, broadly rounded and commonly wider than long, the inner progressively longer; cor-lobes ovate, obtuse; styles 0.7–2 mm; stigma capitate; fr ovoid to globose, 3–5 mm thick, not beaked, indehiscent, 1–2- seeded, the withered cor calyptrate at the top. Mass. to Pa., Ill., and Neb., s. to Fla. and Tex. (C. paradoxa)
