Discussion
This is the commonest and most collected Amazonian species of Licania. In Prance (1972) I also cited material from Rio de Janeiro for which I was uncertain if it was of cultivated origin or for the Glaziou specimens pirated. A new collection shows that this species is a native of the eastern Brazilian forests and is another Amazon-eastern Brazil disjunct (Fig. 44).
