Species Description - Shrub 3–6(–9) dm, glabrous or inconspicuously strigillose; petioles 4–8 mm; lfls 6–15 pairs, 5–15 mm, conspicuously punctate beneath; racemes 3–7 cm, solitary at the branch-tips; fr 5 mm, strongly glandular, not hairy; otherwise much like no. 1 [Amorpha canescens Pursh]. Dry prairies; Io. and Minn. to Sask., Kans., Colo., and N.M. June, July. (A. microphylla)
