Description
Species Description - Thinly strigose or subglabrous, leafy perennial, 2–5 dm, the stems branched, clustered on a stout root or branched crown; stipules connate; lfls 11–21, narrow, 1–2 cm; racemes numerous, short-peduncled, loose, 2–6 cm, with 4–20 ochroleucous fls 6–9 mm; cal-tube 2–2.5 mm, the subulate lobes 1–2.5 mm; fr drooping, compressed, oblong, glabrous, 1–1.5 cm, on a stipe to 7 mm; 2n=24. Prairies, hillsides, and open woods; Minn. to Yukon, s. to N.M. June. (Homalobus t.; H. stipitatus)
