    Species Description - Perennial from a thick woody root; stems erect, branched from the base, 2–5 dm, with closely appressed hairs; lvs finely appressed-hairy on the lower surface, glabrous on the upper, averaging narrower than in no. 1 [Crotalaria sagittalis L.], the upper usually linear and seldom over 5 mm wide, the lower often narrowly lanceolate. Dry sandy soil; se. Va. to n. Fla. and e. La., mainly on the coastal plain. Summer.
