Description
Species Description - Slender shrub to 1(–2) m; lvs simple, sessile, elliptic to lanceolate, 1–3(–5) cm × 3–10(–15) mm; racemes erect, 3–6 cm, leafy-bracteate, often several and forming a terminal panicle; fls 10–15 mm; pods 1.5–3 cm × 5 mm; 2n=48. Native of Europe, escaped from cult. in dry sterile soil from Me. and n. N.Y. to Va. June–Sept.
