Species Description - Stems matted, 5–10 cm; lvs crowded and imbricate, spatulate, 6–15 mm; peduncles 1–4 cm; bracts ovate; cal-lobes obovate-oblong; cor 7–10 mm; fr 5 mm; 2n=12. Circumboreal, s. to alpine summits in Me., N.H., Vt., and N.Y. June.
