  Species Description - Glabrous perennial with densely tufted stems 3–10 cm; lvs long-petioled, oval or elliptic, 5–10 mm; fls 2–5, white; pet 3–5 mm; axis of the raceme scarcely elongating, the frs 2 cm, erect, crowded, on pedicels 3–5(–10) mm, the beak 1–1.5 mm; 2n=16. Circumboreal, s. in our range to the higher mts. of Me. and N.H. Summer.
