    Species Description - Perennial, 3–5 dm; basal lvs narrowly spatulate, 4–10 cm × 5–15 mm; cauline lvs 1–3 pairs, mostly smaller, petiolate or subsessile, oblong to lanceolate; infl open, compound; cal tubular-conic, 7–10 mm, glandular-puberulent; fls nodding, later erect; pet pink or white, the auricles inconspicuous, the appendages linear, 2 mm (rarely obsolete), the blade 5 mm, lobed half-length; styles 3; fr trilocular below, opening by 6 teeth; 2n=24. Native of Europe, occasionally escaped from cult. in the e. part of our range. June–Sept.
