Description
Species Description - Perennial, 2–8 dm; viscid in the condensed, narrow infl; lvs mostly basal, narrow, acuminate; cal glabrous or nearly so, ca 1 cm; pet 12–15 mm, the appendages conspicuous, the blade dark red, pink, or seldom white, entire or emarginate; fr 6–8 mm, partitioned to above the middle; 2n=24. Native of Europe, sometimes escaped from cult. and occasionally persisting as a weed in our range. May–July. (Viscaria vulgaris)
