Description:Species Description - Thallus epilithieus crustaceus uniformis effusus linea nigra limitatus, glaucus aut cinereus opacus, crassiusculus crebre eontextus, continuus laevigatus. Gonidia chroolepoidea. Stromata minuta, 0.4-0.6 mm. lata, in foveolis saxi innata, dein semi-emergentia, demum elabentia foveolamque relinquentia, tota nigra parte emersa nudata, paucicarpica, ambitu oblonga aut satis difformia, ostiolis minutis irregulariter umbonatis. Perithecia minutissima, integra nigra. Paraphyses persistentes simplices filiformes. Asci cylindriees, 8-spori. Sporae in ascis 1-2-seriales, incolores, fusiformes, 8-loculares, loeulis eylindricis, 18-22 X 5-6 µ.

On limestone, vicinity of Cockburn Town, Watling's Island (Britton and Millspaugh, March 13, 1907. 6127, type; 6129). Lithothelium bahamenfte differs from the only other known species of. the genus, L. cubanum Muell. Arg. (Bot. Jahrb. 6: 386. 1885), in the color of the thallus and the eight-celled spores.
