Species Description - Acaulescent during the first year, with several ascending, non- prehensile, decompound lvs; climbing the second year to 3 m, with slender, elongate stems and large, delicate, prehensile lvs, their rachis elongate and the uppermost lfls greatly reduced; 2n=32. Woods, chiefly in the mts.; Que. to Wis., s. to Del., N.C., Tenn., and Ind. June–Sept.
