Description
Species Description - Much like no. 1 [Hexastylis virginica (L.) Small], sometimes producing slender creeping rhizomes as well as short branching ones; cal tube 1.5–4 cm, often ± constricted above, the spreading lobes 6–17 mm, 10–20 mm wide at base; ovary wholly superior. Rich woods; Va. and W.Va. to Ga. and Ala. Apr., May. (H. lewisii; H. macranthum)
