    Species Description - Much like no. 15 [Habenaria blephariglottis (Willd.) Hook.]; relatively small, with only 1 or 2 well developed foliage lvs, the others reduced to a few distant bracts; racemes short, broad, and loosely fld; lateral sep reflexed against the ovary; lip narrowly elliptic, ca 13 × 3 mm, not fringed, merely serrate distally; spur curved, mostly 4–5 cm. Deep shade of moist deciduous forests; Cumberland Plateau region in Ky. and Tenn., and irregularly to the Great Smoky Mts. in Tenn. and the Piedmont and inner Coastal Plain in Ga., Ala., and Miss. Aug., Sept.
