Species Description - Like a robust, pale-fld C. calceolus; plants 6–8 dm; lvs 15–20 cm; fls very large, the upper sep 7–8 cm, the lower connate pair 5–7 cm, the lateral pet 8–9 cm; lip white to creamy or dull yellow, 5–6 cm. Ravines and low woods; irregularly from e. Ky. and e. Tenn. to Ark., Okla., La., and Va. May.
