Discussion
As noted above, this taxon has been confused with P. amapaënsis Steyerm., described above, as well as with P. longiflora (Aubl.) Rich. Although Krause describes the peduncles and pedicels as glabrous, the several specimens which I have examined show a minute puberulence on these parts. Also, specimens reveal the ovary as sparsely and minutely puberulent, although described by Krause as glabrous.
