Palicourea tachirensis Standl. & Steyerm., Fieldiana Bot. 28: 593. 1953.
This species is well-marked in having a relatively long corolla, glabrous leaves, inflorescence, calyx, and hypanthium, and sessile to shortly pedunculate, few-flowered inflorescence. The interior of the corolla tube of Palicourea tachirensis reveals the distribution of the pubescent zone confined to the upper two-thirds of the tube, as in Psychotria schlimii, and completely glabrous within the lower half.
