Discussion
Cephaelis duckei Standl., Field Mus. Publ. Bot. 8: 374. 1931, not Psychotria duckei Standi. Field Mus. Publ. Bot. 11: 236. 1936.
Standley described the heads as 3-4-flowered, but the specimens examined, including the type collection, show 10-14 flowers. This species differs from the related P. potaroensis and P. fanshawei in having 7-8 instead of 4-5 involucral bracts, these linear-elliptic to ligulate-oblanceolate and longer (4-4.8 instead of 1.5-3.5 cm), and in the more numerous flowers (10-14 instead of 1-5) to a head.
