Psychotria tribracteata Wr. ex Griseb., Cat. Pl. Cub. 137. 1886.
The Cuban plants have usually longer hirsutulous pubescence on the basal interior of the bracts than in South American plants, in which the interior of the bracts is either glabrous or sparsely or minutely puberulent, sometimes densely puberulent, as in P. hoffmannseggiana var hoffmanseggiana f pubescens. Likewise, the Cuban plants have usually longer cilia on the bracts.
