  • Discussion

Standley described the interior of the corolla as glabrous. However, an examination of the type specimen shows that the interior is definitely pubescent. The inner bracts of the involucrate heads are smaller than the outer bracts and subtend the ultimate clusters of flowers which occur in 3’s or 4’s. Two of these ultimate flowers are subtended by similar small bracts, while the third flower is subtended by and next to the outer large bract.
