Palicourea roraimae Standl., Field Mus. Publ. Bot. 17: 280. 1937.
Sandwith (Kew Bull. 1939: 556. 1939) correctly points out that Palicourea roraimae Standl. is conspecific with Psychotria oblita Wernh., and that “the species should not be regarded as a Palicourea since there is neither a unilateral swelling at the base of the corolla tube nor a fringe of hairs within the tube near the base.”
Although Wernham cites the Appun, Schomburgk, and Im Thurn collections from Guiana (British), and Standley ascribes the Ule collection from Brazil, all these collectors approached the ascent of Roraima from the Venezuelan part of the mountain and from whose side only the ascent to the summit is possible.
