Description:Latin Diagnosis - A var orbicularis foliorum laminis plerumque longioribus quam latis plerumque late ovatis, raro suborbiculari-ovatis, apice plerumque acute obtusis 2.5-3.5 × 2.5-3.5 cm recedit; laminis supra glabris, lobis basalibus cum parte adaxiali centrum sinus versus minus prolongatis.

Discussion:

Type. Locally frequent in Clusia moss-forest, just south of Camp 3, Cerro de la Neblina, Rio Yatua, Amazonas, Venezuela, alt 650 m, 29 Dec 1953; prostrate vine in liverworts, forming colonies; calyx green; fruit brown; Bassett Maguire, John J. Wurdack & George S. Bunting 36975 (holotype NY, isotype VEN).

The leaf blades of this variety are larger, generally higher than broad, completely glabrous, and the basal lobes with the inner portion less prolonged toward the center of the sinus than in var orbicularis.
