Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Known only from the type locality. VENEZUELA. Edo. Bolívar, Cerro Guaiquinima: at 1740 m alt, Cardona 942 (holotype US, isotypes VEN, NY); 1600-1800 m alt, 15 Jul 1944, Cardona 1126 (US, VEN); low shrub subsimple or much branched, 1-5 dm, sometimes 1 m high, petals white, styles 3-branched, abundant and subdominant over open savanna vie Cumbre Camp at 2000 m alt, 25 Dec 1951, Maguire 32756 (NY); low shrub 1-6 dm high, subdominant and common on open savanna, West Escarpment at 1800 m alt, 30 Dec 1951, Maguire 32826 (NY); low weak shrub abundant and co-dominant, open savannas, North Valley at 1600-1700 m alt, 4 Jan 1952, Maguire 32954 (NY); weak sparingly branched shrub 2-4 m high, abundant in dense high bush, North Valley, 1600-1700 m alt, 10-12 Jan 1952, Maguire 33063 (NY).
