    Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. A small tree apparently restricted to the Moa District of Oriente. CUBA. Oriente: tree 20-40 ft, the largest tree in this region, vic Camp San Benito, at 800 m alt, 24 Feb 1910, J. A. Shafer 4066 (NY); Shajer 8121 (holotype NY); tree 20 ft, much branched, across Sierra Moa to Moa Bay, 31 Dec 1910-1 Jan 1911, Shajer 8283 (NY); pine lands near Arroyo Jicotea, Moa Dr, 22 Jul 1941, Bro. León et al 20173 (NY).
