Discussion
Archytaea is a small American genus confined wholly to Guayana. It is distinguished from its Malaysian counterpart chiefly by a simple entire style, whereas in Ploiarium, of the Malay Peninsula and East Indian islands of Sumatra and Borneo, the styles are five and free to the base. The relationship of the two genera has been reviewed in detail by Kobuski.
