Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Amazonian Brazil, Bolivia, and adjacent Venezuela. VENEZUELA. Bolívar: Río Uonán, tributary of Ikabarú, Caroní, Cardona 1703; Sierra Ichun, vicinity of Salto María Espuma, Río Ichún, 500 m alt, Steyermark 90383; Amazonas: Monadnock, 20 miles above Playa Alta, Río Cunucunuma, Maguire, Cowan & Wurdack 30439.

Discussion
Types. Brazil. Amazonas: Humaita municipality between Rios Livramento and Ipixuna, Krukoff 7011 (holotype, NY; isotypes, A, BM, F, K, LE, MO, S, U); Rio Purus, San Carlos, Krukoff 5824 (NY).
Distinct from other species of the Guayana region by the deeply serrate leaf margins, and the long thin pedicels.
