Dichromena tenella (Nees) Steudel, Syn. Pl. Glumac. 2: 136. 1855. Based on Haloschoenus tenellus Nees.

Rhynchospora tenella Böckeler var haplostylis Uittien, Rec. Trav. Bot. Néerl. 12: 337. 1925. Type. Versteeg 776a (U) from Upper Tapanahoni River, Teeboeberg, Suriname.

Type. Martius (M) from Rio Apaporis, Rio Negro, Vaupés, Colombia.

New addition to the floras of Colombia and Venezuela. Kükenthal and Uittien interpret that the style in R. tenella is typically bifid. According to my examination, the styles in this species are typically undivided and bent down as described by Böckeler, and only very seldom they are shallowly divided.
