Type. Steyermark 58469 (F) from vicinity of Sanariapo, near Río Sanariapo, tributary of Orinoco River, 100 m alt, Amazonas, Venezuela.

This tiny species belongs to the section Tenues, in which it clearly differs from polymorphous R. tenuis in the small obovate achenes that are coarsely rugose and the very depressed style-base.
