Description
Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Known only from several scattered localities in Mexico, Hispaniola, and Venezuela. Rare in savanna. VENEZUELA. Guárico: Ortíz-Galeras de El Pao, ca 20 km from San Francisco de Tiznados, Aristeguieta et al 6319 (VEN).

The collection cited above makes a new addition to the flora of South America. This species has hitherto been known only from Mexico and Haiti.
