Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Colombia to the Guianas, Peru, and Brazil. Terrestrial. In the Guayana Highland known only from the Río Pacoa (tributary of the Río Apaporís), alt 270 m, Schultes & Cabrera 15310 (US).

Adiantum cayennense var ß stenophyllum Hook., Sp. Fil. 2: 20. 1851. Syntypes. British Guiana, R. Schomburgk; Montagne de Malveri, Cayenne, LePrieur; Tumaco, Central America, Hinds (Voyage of the Sulphur) ; Jamaica, Distin (all presumably K none seen).
Type. Cayenne, ex de Candolle (B-Hb. Willd. no. 20084 Tryon photo US).
