Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Colombia and Venezuela. Terrestrial. In the Guayana Highland known only from Plaza Bonita, near the Río Guejar, Sierra de la Macarena, alt 400 m, Philipson et al 1454 (US).

Discussion:

Adiantum cardiochlaena Kunze, Linnaea 17: 568. 1843. Lectotype. Caracas, Venezuela, Linden 78 (B not seen), inferentially chosen by Hooker in citing the other syntype as the type of A. cardiochlaena var ß rigidum.
