Discussion:

A riverine tree, commonly a component of marginal thickets. The cited collections are first reports for Amapa. The ovary stipe in the Rio Oiapoque collections is 1.5 mm long, somewhat under the range (2.0-3.5 mm) given by Dwyer^27 for the typical variety.
