Discussion:

A hitherto little known species, but, as the several records indicate, quite common in exposed places among rocks, especially in rapids and river islands throughout the drainage of the Rio Oiapoque. Two earlier collections (Black 49-8373; Egler 1461) were taken from near the mouth of the same river.
