Discussion:

This hitherto little-collected variety, now represented from Territorio Amazonas, Venezuela (Guayana4) to Brazilian Guiana, was noted on the Brazilian-French Guiana boundary as occurring commonly in several riverine areas. The first-cited collection, a first report for French Guiana, is one of the few to include mature fruit. The Amapa citations complement Cowan 38503 from the lower Rio Amapari.
