Discussion
Type. French Guiana. Melinon 605 (holotype, female fl. P; photo. NY).
The staminate flowers, the only ones seen at the present time, bear stamens of the two outer cycles similar to those found in the genus Aniba; the aborted ovary and the characteristic vegetative structures, however, overbalance these and for the present the above-cited specimen is placed in Endlicheria. Fruits not yet recognized as belonging to this taxa will undoubtedly complete the picture when further collections are made in the area.
