    Distribution and Ecology - SURINAME. Wilhelmina Gebergte, frequent in mesophytic forested hills 3 km S of Juliana Top, 12 km N of Lucie Rivier, Bassett Maguire, J. P. Schulz, T. R. Soderstrom & N. Holmgren 54380 (fl. NY).

  • Discussion

    Type. British Guiana. Courantyne River, Im Thurn s.n. (holotype, fr. K). Distribution. A small tree known to date from British and Dutch Guiana, having alternate, more or less coriaceous, lanceolate or elliptic or obovate-elliptic leaves.

    The specimen cited varies in some respects from material cited by Koster-mans which is available. The flowers examined seemingly were without stami-nodia and the ovary not at all well developed. The species belongs to subg. A ioueopsis.
