Asplenium praemorsum Swartz var. laceratum Hieron. Bot. Jahrb. Engler 34: 469. 1904 (as “lacerata”).Type: La Plata, Tolima, Colombia, Lehmann 2284 (holotype B, photograph 9915).

Asplenium dimidiatum Swartz var. laceratum (Hieron.) Alston, Bull. Jard. Bot. Bruxelles 27: 57. 1957.

Known only from Colombia, perhaps to be expected in the Sierra de la Macarena. In its best developed form the deeply dissected pinnae seem characteristic, but there are intergrades with the typical form, and it seems too casual a variant to warrant varietal status.
