    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Uaipán-tepuí, on the summit, 1700 m alt., flowers white, January 25, 1948, K. D. Phelps & C. B. Hitchcock 358; Auyán-tepuí, Alto Caroní, 2100 m alt., January 1949, F. Cardona 2743, 2744; same locality, faldas meridionales: sabana debajo de "Danto" en la segunda meseta (hombrillo) arriba del valle de Kamarata, arriba de Guayaraca, 1480 m alt., terresaial in open rocky places below dwarf woods, leaves coriaceous, olive green above, 8-9 mm wide, sepals and petals white with yellow and brown mottling, lip white with dull yellow crest spotted with orange-brown. May 18, 1964, J. A. Steyermark 94114; Chimantá Massif, Central Section, along east branch of the headwaters of Río Tirica, 2120 m alt., in swampy depression of wet savanna, locally frequent around hummocks, pseudobulbs subterete, leaves coriaceous, olive green, peduncle reddish brown, sepals and petals cream-color to pale yellow widi irregular broad purple bands, lip white to aeam-color with purple spots in tire center and at the apex, callosity yellow with purplish spots, "lateral appendages white," column purplish above, within whitish with greenish yellow at the base, February 12, 1955, J.
