    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimantá Massif, northwestern part of Abácapatepuí, between Camp 2 and Camp 3, 850-1100 m alt., on forested west-facing slopes with sandstone boulders, on tree trunk, April 18, 1953, J. A. Steyermark 75118 (tliis collection has only one old fruit, but the plant is closely similar to this species); Rio Chunin, in fairly dense forest near river's edge, G. C. K. Dunsterville 500. BOLIVIA (type) and PERU.
