H. H. Tate 828; Cerro Yavi, 1500 m alt., in trees, flowers yellowish green with white hairs on tongue [lip], March 1-3, 1947, K. D. Phelps & C. B. Hitchcock 24; Cerro Sipapo (Pardque), 2000 m alt., occasional on rocks on east escarpment, flowers greenish yellow, lip with white margins, column purplish, January 14, 1949, B. Maguire & L. Politi 28332; same locality, 600 m alt., near Intermediate Camp, frequent epiphyte in mixed montane woodland, flowers yellowish green, February 2, 1949, Maguire & Politi 28712. A widespread and variable species extending from VENEZUELA (type of Maxillaria notylioglossa), COLOMBIA, PERU and BOLIVIA to BRAZIL (type of Ornithidium divaricatum).
