Description
Species Description - Much like no. 1 [Gymnopogon ambiguus (Michx.) Britton, Sterns & Poggenb.]; lvs 3–6 mm wide, spikes floriferous only above the middle; glumes 2.8–3.7 mm; lemma 2.3–3 mm, conspicuously pilose on the back and margins; awn 0.8–1.6 mm. Dry pine-barrens on the coastal plain from s. N.J. to Fla., Ark., and La.; Pulaski Co., Ky.
