Distribution and Ecology - BRAZIL. Amazonas: Taracua, alto Rio Negro, flowers lilac with a yellowish lip, blooming in March, G. Hübner 180 (type of Galeottia negrensis). COLOMBIA. Vaupes: Rio Kuduyari, flowers pale tan reticulated with deep maroon, lip fringed, January 20, 1944, P. H. Allen 3257.
