Description:Distribution and Ecology - BRAZIL. Amazonas: Rio Negro, Wallis s.n. (type of Aganisia lepida). VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Mt. Roraima district, along the Kookenam River, 923 m alt., Im Thurn 360 (types of Aganisia alba and Zygopetalum venustum); near base of Angel Falls (just below "Observation Rock"), terrestrial in rather tall, steep, damp forest, G. C. K. Dunsterville 570; mesa between Ptari-tepui and Sororopdn-tepui, in vicinity of "Misia Kathy Camp," 1615 m alt., terrestrial in sandy savanna, leaves erect and subcoriaceous, rich green above and paler beneath, J. A. Steyermark 60254 (in this collection the flowers on the scape are very old and imperfect, so the determination is uncertain).
