Vaupes: Rfo Pacoa (tributary of Rio Apaporis), lat. 0°20'N., long. 71°20'W., about 275 m alt., epiphyte, flowers exceedingly spicy-fragrant, flowers dark purple-red with the border of sepals whitish, lip white, February 7-12, 1952, R. E. Schultes & I. Cabrera 15232. VENEZUELA. Amazonas: Alto Orinoco, Bungeroth s.n.; Cerro Yapacana, upper Rio Orinoco, about 100 m alt., April 1931, E. G. Holt & E. R. Blake 714. The type was from VENEZUELA.
