Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Gran Sabana, 1185-1280 m alt., in woods bordering stream tributary to Rio Kukenan, at base of Mt. Roraima ("murama" name of monte), terrestrial, leafless, sepals and petals pale green with creamy-white margins, "lip with greenish white over most of portion with greenish stripes showing on outside, the margin white striped Avith dull purple," column pale green with dull yellow tip, September 24, 1944, J. A. Steyermark 58590. Florida (U.S.A.), COSTA RICA, the West Indies, COLOMBIA and BRAZIL (type).
