    Distribution and Ecology - The following collections are either sterile or with poor flowers. VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimanta Massif, northwestern part of Abacapatepui, in vicinity of Camp 3, on forested slopes adjacent to quebrada, 1300 m alt., epiphyte on tree trunk, stem terete, thickened, 5 mm in diameter, purple, leaves spreading, subcoriaceous, dark green above and paler beneath, April 20, 1953, J. A. Steyermark 75179; Uriman, Rio Avequi, Cerro de las Guacamayas, 850-950 m alt., in small woods, "flores rojas,' September 6, 1954, Bernardi 1666; Ptaritepui, on mesa between Ptari-tepui and Sororopan-tepui, in vicinity of "Misia Kathy Camp," epiphyte in scrubby forest at margin of swampy meadow, Steyermark 60249; between Santa Teresita de Kavanayen and Rio Pacairao (tributary of Rio Mouak), on wooded slopes of Quebrada O-parii-ma, 1065-1220 m alt., on tree trunk, November 20-21, 1944, Steyermark 60382. Amazonas: Cerro Duida, Savanna Hills, 1350 m alt., epiphyte in woods, G. H. H.
