    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: El Cani, Medio Caura, 90 m alt., on branches of a tree, February 23, 1937, L. Williams 11305; Cerro Altamira (10 km east of the town of Piar), 425-650 m alt., locally frequent on rocks under low trees, flowers white, October 19, 1953, B. Maguire, J. J. Wurdack & G. S. Bunting 35873; Raudal de Guaiquinima, Rio Paragua, sandy beach with dense woods at the base of Cerro Guaiquinima, lat. 6°3', long. 63°47', 475 m alt., epiphyte on tree, leaves erect, pale green, subcoriaceous, January 15, 1962, J. A. Steyermark 90786; Auyantepui, faldas meridionales, Vecindad de Guayaraca, en la primera (inferior) meseta (hombrillo) arriba del valle de Kamarata, 1000 m alt., epiphyte on small trees, on exposed rocks bordering edge of escarpment. May 18, 1964, Steyermark 94208 (this collection is a fruiting specimen, but its identity is unmistakable.) PANAMA and the West Indies. The type was from VENEZUELA.
